Benfleet Running Club members showcased their endurance and versatility in another action-packed weekend of racing!
Steve K tackled the gruelling TEC Wye Valley Ultra, covering over 36.3 miles in an impressive time of 7:52:13. Despite the challenging hills and humidity, Steve’s performance was nothing short of fantastic as he edges closer to his goal of completing 100 marathons.
Paul D took on the Great Baddow 10, navigating a scenic route through Essex. Known for its charming scenery, this race was particularly tough due to the soaring temperatures. Nevertheless, Paul pushed through the heat and crossed the finish line in a brilliant 1:12:42, demonstrating remarkable resilience and endurance. Well done, Paul!
Pete W completed the Test Track 10, an impressive feat made even more challenging by the unshaded course. Despite the intense heat, he persevered and crossed the finish line with a time of 1:14:19. His performance demonstrates remarkable determination under harsh conditions.
Michael B, who’s currently working out in Cyprus also wanted part of the BRC action this weekend. He took part in the Troodos Terra Marathon 2024, an ultra marathon in the mountainous region in central Cyprus. The hills combined with the extreme heat, made completion of this event nothing short of exceptional! Michael crossed the line in 6:04:26!
Finally, Emma J demonstrated her multi-discipline prowess in the Hadleigh Cross Tri event, which featured an 800m swim, a 19km hilly bike ride, and a 5km hilly run. Emma completed the challenging course, finishing strong in all three disciplines.
