Greater Manchester Marathon

Benfleet Running Club proved a formidable force at the Greater Manchester Marathon. First back was Daniel Carter, who secured a spot in the top 100 with an impressive time of 2:46:25. Hot on his heels was Nick Rankin in 2:55:34, a feat that snagged him 1st place in the Vet 55 category. Keith Luxon, Brian Venton, Tom Robinson and Mark Cowan all broke the four-hour mark in 3:22:13, 3:32:17, 3:47:33 and 3:56:44 respectively. Stephen Burton capped off his fourth marathon in 4:18:15

 

Paddock Wood Half Marathon

Taking full advantage of the flat course at Paddock Wood Half Marathon, James Caldon shaved a remarkable 55 seconds off his previous PB to achieve a time of 1:14:04, setting a new club record in the process. Jayne Stacy smashed her previous PB by 30 seconds, crossing the line in 1:39:26.

                             

Olympic Park 10k

Flying the flag for Benfleet at the Olympic Park 10k was Sean Allison, achieving a new PB of 46:56, a whopping 51 seconds quicker than his previous record.

 

Braintree 5

Tackling the scenic yet deceptively hilly Braintree 5, Andrew Low continued his winning streak with a 19 second PB of 28:38:09. Graham Douglas crossed the line in 35:55:19, knocking a staggering 3 minutes and 8 seconds off his previous PB. Mandy Cooper finished in 41:14:65.
