Triathlon Results Round-up

Sinead Clark continued her immense progress in the Elite Junior Triathlon in Leeds on the 10th June, her 1st podium as a Junior, well earned 2nd place in the pouring rain. 
The Clarks we’re in action again the following weekend at Dartford Sprint Tri.
Sinead this time beating the field to take 1st place in 1:17:45, she also beat her Dad Alan who finished two places behind securing a top 10 with 1:18:37 and first place in the V50 category. Dennis Dudley also had a good race, taking 2nd in the V50 category with 1:25:52. Another BRC/EETC Youngster, Grace Goodall, was 1st female in the super sprint (Go Tri) event completing the 400m/14km/3.3km race in 45:48.

Charmaine Sterling raced in Kitzbühel Austria

On the 17th June Charmaine Sterling was in action at the  ETU (European) Triathlon European Championships in Kitzbühel Austria. In this standard distance event of 1500/40km/10km Charmaine clocked an amazing 19:46 for the swim, setting her up for a great race finishing in 

2:33.59 – 5th place in her age group out of 28 athletes that had made the qualification criteria. 
That was off the back of another super result on the 11th June where Charmaine was 2nd in the W35-39 AG at the British Triathlon Standard Distance Age-Group Championships in Leeds, finishing in 2:29:56. 

The 24th of June saw the first of the Triple Crown Sprint Tri races at Trifarm (800M/18km/5k). Paul Ruffy came home in 4th overall in 1:05:29, securing 1st place in his age group, whilst Benfleet were also represented by Kelly McCleneghan who clocked 1:40:00.

Sunday 25th June saw Tim Tomlins take on his first long course (Iron Distance) event at the Cotswold 226. 
He completed in a superb 12:01:54, 34th home from 71 in the 18-49 Category.

Meanwhile,  in Dusseldorf,  Kiera Trippett gained an incredible bronze medal at the European Sprint Tri Champs. She finished in 1:19:19, 3rd in the 16-19 AG, out of the 18 that made the Championship event. This rounds up a great couple of months – inbetween taking her A levels – where she has gained National Aquathlon Champ, British Standard Triathlon Champion and now a European medal within her age group.
Her next stop is World Standard Distance Champs in Holland in September.
