Following an incredible event at Hadleigh in which Benfleet RC were crowned the winning team in division one please see below the points standing after 2 rounds of the Cross Country.
Those who marshalled and also ran at Horseheath 2 weeks ago have been awarded their equivalent points, all other marshals will be awarded points if they run in a future cross county.
In the men’s race James Cordon, 5th overall, was 1st home for Benfleet followed by Matt Leeman, Lee Baynton & Andy Low who were all in the top 10, the next batch of runners who all came in the top 20 were Eddy Cooper, George Watts, Michael Feltham and Graham Booty. In total we had 22 runners in the male category, a fantastic turnout for our home event.
In the Womens race the remarkable Sinead Clark was the 1st lady home followed by Hannah Watson in 2nd, in 4th was Nicola Bredin and in 8th Charmaine Sterling giving Befleet 3 in the top 5 and 4 in the top 10. Jacqui Watson was the 1st vet home in and impressive 11th position. In total we had 9 women competing who all came in the top 50.
